Dates

1 December (Tuesday afternoon); 2 December all day; 3 December in the morning.

Lang EN Workshop language is English
Organisateur(s)/trice(s)
Intervenant-e-s

Prof. Tudor Arvinte, UNIGE

Description

The course will address basic aspects of fluorescence spectroscopy: fluorescence emission, fluorescence lifetime, fluorescence polarization and anisotropy, resonance energy transfer. Different fluroescence based research methods such as FRAP (fluorescence recovery after photobleaching), 90 °-light scattering measurements using spectrofluorimeters, fluorescence detection in flow cytometry. Examples will be presented of using fluorescence methods for the characterization of proteins, DNA and biological membranes. The course will have practical laboratory sessions presenting different fluorescence methods. Handouts will be provided to the participants.
