Description

The ability to strike a perceived sense of balance between work and life represents a challenge for many in academic and research sectors. The current hypercompetitive culture is particularly impactful on early career researchers. In the academic context, work–life balance needs to be examined with regard to spatial and temporal flexibility, employment practices, and researcher habits. In this interactive workshop, we will discuss the challenges of achieving a work-life balance in a scientific career, based on research articles and personal experiences by scientists in different fields. We will explore and exchange strategies for managing work-life balance in a satisfactory manner. This workshop is designed for early career researchers. It is required to read the selected articles on the topic before the workshop
